Everyone who knows us knows that here at SONNENTOR everything is organic. Each tea leaf, spice, and cocoa bean. From the very beginning, organics have been our mission. We live and love everything that is organic. Why? Here are our top 10 reasons:

ORGANIC MEANS FREE OF HERBICIDES AND PESTICIDES.

Organic products are up to 200 times less contaminated with pesticides than conventional ones. The pesticide "glyphosate", for example, was declared to be "probably carcinogenic" by the WHO. Nevertheless, it is used worldwide.

ORGANIC IS GOOD FOR BEES.

Pesticides not only attack "pests" but also bees. Without those small powerhouses, we would have 80% less food to eat. Among other things, all the fruits and vegetables would disappear from our lives. Organic is always pesticide-free and thus helps the bees - and ultimately us – to survive.

ORGANIC PROTECTS WATER

Chemical sprays used in conventional cultivation slowly, but inevitably, seep into the ground water. And what is deadly for beetles and thistles cannot be too healthy for humans either.

ORGANIC IS GEN FREE

We don’t know how genetic engineering changes our food or us humans. In any case, it is not a good feeling to eat genetically modified "food". Yes, it does not even feel good to mention "genetically modified" and "food" in the same sentence. In organic farming, neither seed, feed nor ingredients produced with the aid of genetic engineering is allowed and neither are any further processing steps.

ORGANIC PRESERVES RESOURCES.

In organic farming 12-15% more CO2 is bound than in the conventional cultivation. Methane and nitrous oxide emissions are halved. And instead of depleting the soil, organic techniques replenish it. Thus, keeping it healthy for future generations.

ORGANIC IS ETHICAL.

To all carnivores, who care where their meat comes from: In organic farming, there are no cages. Chicken & co roam freely and live a happy life. Food tastes better when it can be enjoyed with a clean conscience.

ORGANIC IS HEALTHIER.

In organic farming, neither medication nor antibiotics may be administered prophylactically to the animals. Since animal feed is not allowed, organic meat has been largely spared from all scandals (BSE, etc.) and, organic plants are tasty and deserve excellence for their high content in vital nutrients.

ORGANIC TASTES BETTER.

Organic fruit and vegetables get the time to grow at their own pace - without artificial additives. Therefore, they are tastier and less watery than their conventionally grown relatives.

ORGANIC COMES WITHOUT ADDITIVES.

Only natural additives (such as pectin for jams) go into organic food. With conventional products, more than 300, sometimes even critical additives (such as artificial dyes or preservatives) are allowed.

ORGANIC PROMOTES DIVERSITY.

Organic farms often cultivate "old" and little known varieties and contribute to retaining the diversity of herbs, fruits and vegetables. In addition, there are significantly more species of wild plants and animals on organic fields than on conventional ones because it is much more “comfortable” for them on such pesticide-free fields.
